タシギ

英名"Common" snipeなんて見ると、ええっ！と驚いてしまう。もう何年か散歩しながら鳥を探しているけど初めて見た。

I’ve been walking around looking for birds for a few years now, but this was the first time I had seen this “Common” snipe. We were very happy.

スズメ

小さくてかわいらしいと思って写真に撮ってみると、気の強そうな顔に見えたりしてなかなか侮れない。

We thought sparrows were very small and looked very cute ,so we took pictures of them. But they sometimes seemed to have strong faces.

カラス

ザリガニを獲ってきたハシボソガラス。

Carrion crow gets a Crayfish.

コピーペーストしたみたいなハシブトガラス。

These two jungle crows look like they were copy-pasted.

モズ

少し鳥を目にする機会が減るように思うこの時期でも、モズはあちこちで元気に鳴いている。

We think that there are less birds this time of year than another period, but Bull-headed shrikes are singing cheerfully here and there.

ジョウビタキのメス

ジョウビタキがくる季節になった。どういうわけだかよく近くでじっとしていてくれることも多い愛想のいい小鳥。明るいところにも出てきてくれるのできれいに撮ることもできる。

Daurian redstart. The season to see this bird has arrived.

ヒメアカタテハ？

ほんのちょっとした外見の違いで異なる種類の蝶だということがあると知ってしまうと、今度はやたら蝶が気になって仕方がない。ひらひら飛んでいる蝶を追いかけて写真を撮る。

Once we realized that just a slight difference in appearance could mean a different kind of butterfly, we couldn’t help but become curious about them.

ツマグロヒョウモン？

キタテハと同じ蝶だと思って撮影した。家で調べてみるとどうやらちがう蝶らしい。なんと！

We took this photo thinking it was Polygonia c-aureum, but when we checked it at home, it was a different butterfly.

スジグロシロチョウ？

白い蝶を見れば、ああモンシロチョウ、そう思ってた。

When we saw white butterflies, we simply thought that it was Small white. But we were wrong.

キタテハ？

秋、晴れた日には春と同じように蝶や蛾が花の間を飛んでいる。これはたぶんキタテハだと思う。昆虫は奥が深すぎる。

We can see butterflies and moths around flowers in autumn, not also in spring. The name of this butterfly is perhaps Polygonia c-aureum.

東京都深大寺

深大寺。本当はね、せっかくだから行ってみたいんだけど、なかなかね、新幹線の中もずっとマスクをして、着いてからもマスクをして、帰りもってなるとちょっとめげちゃうかな。

タデ

たぶんイヌタデ。散歩しながら、きれいだなと写真に撮る。大きな画面でなんて植物なのかな？と調べてみるけどすんなりとはわからないもんだ。葉がどんな特徴だったか、とか見てないし。

The name of this plant is perhaps Creeping Smartweed.

アブ

侮るなかれ。というか完全に侮っていた。たかがアブ、そう思ってた。でもネット上を調べてもこのアブがなんてアブなのかちゃんとはわからない。たぶんナガヒラタアブ。

We don’t know this insect's name. We checked on the internet, but we couldn't. We found that it was difficult to know the name of the insects.

チョウゲンボウのつがい？

いつもの散歩道、ふと見上げるとチョウゲンボウ。猛禽類の中じゃよく見かけるほうとはいえ、この道すがら見たことはない。慌ててカメラを構える。そしたらもう一羽やってきた。つがいかな？

Common Kestrel.As we were walking along our usual path, we noticed that this bird perched on an electric pole. Even though this bird is not so rare, we had never seen it on our usual path. So we were very excited.

シジュウカラ、ヤマガラ食事中

本当の偶然に期待するしかないけれど、たまにこういう時間に遭遇することもある。

We are very lucky to see these scenes.

シジュウカラ

ごく身近にいるのでよく見かける。鳴き声もよく聞くことができる。林ではコゲラ、メジロ、エナガなんかとの混群に出会うことが多いかも。鳥類の言語の研究では主役？

Japanese Tit. We can often see this bird in my town. It sings with a high and bright voice.

イソヒヨドリ

これは住宅街じゃなくて本当に磯にいるイソヒヨドリ。ありふれた鳥だろうけどとてもきれい。

カワラヒワ

河川敷なんかを歩いていると小鳥が飛び出す。黄色い色が目に飛び込んでくるとカワラヒワってことが多い。

Oriental Greenfinch.When we go for a walk beside a river, we sometimes see this bird.
